Severs Disease
June 17th, 2010 by admin
A number of conditions which occur in young people that don’t take place in grown-ups. A common reason with this is that growth continues to be taking place. With the bones in your body, they start off as a cartilage and lots of bones have got a number of places in them who have two or more bone growth areas developing. In the calcaneus or heel bone, there is one main centre and an additional growing location at the back. These two blend together around age 15. Before that age, there can be overuse of that development plate. This is called Severs disease. There are no long term issues with this because the two locations of the bone merge together.
