Uses of stock footage in the Star Trek series.

You would be surprised actually how much stock footage was used in the making of all the Star Trek TV series shows and even in the Star Trek movies on the big screen. The Star Trek TV series filmmakers kept a collection of shots from different spaceships that were filmed only one time and these ships were seen on a regular basis during each week of shows. But what the viewers did not know is that the ships that they see are the same ships they saw the last time they saw it and the last time and so on. They also kept clips of different planets and sceneries that they also used on a regular basis but only shot one time and saved it as stock footage.
