Marriage Licenses

Marriage license is the permission for two people to get married, given by legal authorities. The legal authorities can be state or church authorities. The details about the marriage license and the procedure to obtain them vary for every country. The concept of license to marry is not present in some of the countries. Such countries only ask for the registration of the marriage, which is known as the marriage certificate. Some countries such as USA and UK have strict laws about the marriage. The purpose behind licensing the marriages was to legalize them. This way, some of the marriages can be illegal in such countries. In some of the countries the marriage licenses act as the marriage record as they are legally required.
