Bridal gown from toilet paper — Christchurch wedding expo competiton
April 30th, 2008 by admin
Did you hear about the bridal gowns made from toilet paper? How can that be? I hear you asking, and I have to say it was my own first reaction. But, having seen the photos of the finished product, I’ve got to admit that the strangest materials can be used to make the most polished, lively garments.A competition here in Christchurch, New Zealand, attracted eight bridal outfit designers. Each was permitted by the rules to use just two four-packs of double length toilet tissue — about 16 rolls — and the dresses were astounding. The designer of winning gown, Vicky Heir, needed only 10 rolls to take the prize. And it was absolutely stunning, according to the judges. The gowns were shown at the city’s recent Wedding Expo, and a number of christchurch wedding venues were also promoted.
