In choosing a table lamp, pick one out that complements the existing look of your room. It doesn’t have to match everything but nothing too out of place would do. Avoid mixing far out materials, glass goes with silver metallic designs while wood and bronze also go together. Also consider the function. If you are looking for a reading table lamps then choose a bulb that gives enough light so as not to stress your eyes too much due to poor lighting. However, if the table lamp is just used to accent a corner table for example, then something pretty and stylish. Shape should also be considered, if the base if round, it will look best with a round lamp shade. But if you have a square shade with a round table, work this out by putting a round tabletop.
