I have often seen a lot of contemporary track lighting in showrooms but I have yet to see it work in a small home setting. I would think to really pull of the contemporary look you would have to have a really large area with a lot of contemporary pieces. I also think the look would go well with a Victorian style home but I do not think the lighting will work with every style. Especially if the space you have to work with is small I would be afraid the design of the lighting would be too overpowering for the place. It would add great light, but maybe too much.
