Popup Campers Can Be Luxurious Too

January 31st, 2008 by admin

popup campers, like most camping units, can range from very basic to pretty luxurious.  There are small ones that have a base box unit as short as 8 feet (that’s what the camper folds down into and is how big the “walking” space inside the camper is, but that doesn’t include the length of the beds), and box units that are 16 feet long with a slideout on one side to increase the interior space.

A basic popup will have a small dining area, seating area, sleeping areas, storage, a stove, and a sink and can be purchased new for as little as $5,000.  As the size and the number of amenities goes up, so does the price.  A high end unit with all the “bells and whistles” can cost around $18,000 and may feature amenities such as a furnace, bathroom with shower, indoor and outdoor stoves, air conditioning, both indoor and outdoor storage, a slide-out, an automatic lift and lowering system, larger seating and dining areas, counter space, a larger fridge, heated mattresses, an awning, an add on canvas room for extra living area, and more.
