Formal table settings are an investment that lasts a lifetime. For years, people who do formal entertaining will not cut corners when it comes to purchasing flatware. They choose the finest metals and look for craftsmanship that is worth the money. Unlike furnitue and home accessories, flatware never become out dated. There are antique pieces of flatware, but rarely is antique flatware used. If it is a family or formal gathering, you will not have antique flatware.
