Prostate infection — symptoms and causes

May 29th, 2008 by admin

Prostate infection can occur for a number of different reasons. The man may have been subjected to a bacterial infection, or fungus may be the culprit. Some men experience prostate infections because they have contracted a genital virus — in some cases, parasites may be the cause. Prostate infection symptoms can include experiencing difficulty while urinating, a difficulty in maintaining an erection during sexual activities. Additional symptoms of a prostate infection might also include the presence of blood in the semen or urine (which could be visible or detected through a test). In some cases men with a prostate infection may also complain of pain and discomfort in the area of their back and legs.
