Fields of Practice for an Ultrasound Technician
July 22nd, 2008 by admin
The field of radiologic practice has been expanding over the past few decades as is the case in other fields of medical practice and the Allied Health Services. “Allied Health” refers to the supportive services, i.e. occupational therapy, physical therapy, and sonography to name just a few.
Ultrasound is a sub field within the greater field of radiology practice. Becoming an ultrasound technician can lead one to practice all over this world. If you are interested in exploring different countries and their cultures, this might be the field for you.
Though it poses dangers to the practitioner, providing care in war torn areas is available for people in the greater medical field. If you are not yet feeling that brave, there are areas throughout the world (including the United States) which are under serviced and could benefit from your skills.
It can be a great honor to serve one’s fellow man and I would encourage anyone to think deeply about it.
