Because of the side effects, parents of children with epilepsy should also think twice or even more before they let their children to take medications. The common side effects of anti-epileptic drugs are fatigue, dizziness, weight gain due to increase in appetite or weight loss due to loss of appetite, upset stomach, staggering, slurring of words, rashes, headache and depression. These side effects of anti-epileptic drugs for children can be severe. If that happens, you should immediately ask for the help of your pediatrician and doctor that prescribed it to your child.
