Once In A Lifetime

The other day I experienced what I hope will be my only experience ever at feeling what an anxiety attack is like. It was so overwhelming that I was actually hospitalized overnight because the doctors had no idea what was going on. Being that I have never had an anxiety attack before and have no family history the doctors kept me overnight to examine and monitor me. Once it was determined that it actually was just an attack I am doing whatever I can to get Anxiety Attack Help so that I will never have to experience that again in my life.

A Great Day

On November 4, 2008, the world watched in wonder. Barack Obama won the presidency of the United States of America.  This was the first time in history that a non-white person had become president, and the election overall stood as a stunning repudiation of the style of politics and policies that George W. Bush and Karl Rove had stood for.  Beyond that, the election represented a fundamental shift in the nature of campaigning.  Instead of a handful of retirees manning a phone bank, you saw thousands of young people canvassing door-to-door in Barack T-Shirts and telling their friends to show their support on Facebook. Barack Obama even announced his choice of vice presidential nominee via text message. Perhaps most significantly, Barack Obama and the Democratic Party benefited from a huge fundraising advantage.  Most of the donations to the campaign were in small five or ten dollar increments and were made online rather than the old way of getting large checks from a few rich donors.
