Where do you search death records?

About a year ago I decided to start scrap booking about my family and where we came from. As I make these scrapbooks and anticipate the generations to come who will look through them and get a glimpse of what life was like “back then” I wish I had books to go through from my grandparents and so on. So, in an attempt to find out more about my family and get it documented for our future generations I began the journey of trying to connect the dots between stories, people and pictures. One thing I am hoping someone might be able to help me with is how you search death records. I’m sure I there is some valuable information in them I could add to our family story.
