The books you are shown at the interview matter!

Once we started interviewing new york city wedding photography pros, we knew we had our work cut out for us. Some were great, some were awful.

When we eventually met the one who would end up being our wedding photographer, we knew it instantly, even before the interview. The phone call, which was kind of a pre interview, was professional and full of good energy. When we arrived that weekend to see her work, a 1940′s jazz record was spinning Miles Davis in the background, and an art collection filled her walls. This artist had carefully showed us albums that were similar in style to our own wedding venue, where she had shot before. We had just come from an interview that same day where the photographer had showed us only albums of club weddings. We booked her on the spot.
