The A To Z Of Golf Terminology

February 29th, 2008 by admin

When you are learning to do anything new in life it is always a good idea to learn the language of the activity you are involved in and, in the case of golf, this mean learning some golf terminology. There are literally hundreds of golf terms, many of which will be very familiar and others which you may have come across before or which might have a meaning which surprises you. Here is one term which is not always well understood.

Abnormal Ground Conditions: Not surprisingly an abnormal ground condition is used to refer to any casual water on the course or ground which is under repair. Less commonly understood however is the fact that it also refers to a cast or runway on the golf course which has been made by some form of burrowing animal, a reptile or a bird.

Fencing gear is useful

February 29th, 2008 by admin

Sometimes fencing is referred to as physical chess. I am convinced that fencing is simply one of the most visually beautiful sports in its depiction of grace speed and power of the human form. However, fencing is not only an exercise for the body, but also for the brain. Traditional fencing gear is really the only type of fencing which still preserves the character of a courteous and honest encounter with sharp swords between gentlemen and genteel women. The modern sport of fencing is also played at many levels, from students learning at a university to professional and Olympic competition.

Hair Loss Can Effect Both Men and Women

February 28th, 2008 by admin

Hair loss can be a very upsetting thing, especially for women. There is nothing more concerning than seeing a hair brush full of hair. It happened to a friend of mine. She described it as “shedding”. She had clumps of hair coming out. She saw her doctor right away. He attributed her hair loss to stress and hormonal changes. He suggested that she practice some stress relief techniques and give it time. Lucky for her it only lasted a few weeks. During that time she did a lot of reading about hair loss and found out it can be caused by many things.

February 28th, 2008 by admin

People devoted to increase eastern Iowa tourism are forming an association where they can network and get some fresh new ideas on how to attract the tourism dollars spent in other close by areas. There seems to be a feeling that the typical tourist goes to one attraction and never leaves there for the entire vacation. One idea that was floated was to allow free advertising of the association members at other members attractions thus planting the idea in the tourists head that there may be other things to see and do in the local area without spending a lot of money or time traveling.
